Care alarms – support at the press of a button
Peace of mind for you and your family
A care alarm, or ‘personal home alarm’ provides a safety net and peace of mind for you and your family.
What is a Care Alarm?
Care alarms are one of the simplest forms of telecare. It is a portable, personal alarm that consists of a pendent or wrist band linked to a base unit in your home. It is connected to a monitoring centre which is automatically called when triggered by the press of a button on your alarm bracelet or pendant.
Your base unit is a two way device, enabling you to talk to the monitoring centre, and for them to talk to you. If your alarm button is pressed, the monitoring centre will call you and try to speak to you. The staff are trained to quickly assess the problem and make a follow on call to your named responder.
Our monitoring service is provided by Progress Lifeline who provide experienced operators 24 hour/day, 365 days/year.
How is the care alarm installed?
It’s very simple. You just need an electric socket and phone socket on the same wall and we can fit the equipment. Your phone will not be affected by the alarm unit and we can still install an alarm if you haven’t got a phone but do have a phone socket.
